Noncommutative Shapes: A conference in honor of Michel Van den Bergh's 60th birthday

Registration fee, lunches and conference dinner

Everyone, with exception of the invited speakers, is required to pay a registration fee of 20 euro in advance.

Cold lunches are offered at the campus restaurant. There are some (but unfortunately not many) alternatives for lunch in the neighbourhood.

On Monday evening, a reception will take place at 17h in the hall of building G where the lectures take place.

On Wednesday evening, we will have the conference dinner at 19h at Grand Café Horta. For organisational reasons, everyone who will attend the dinner is kindly asked to pay 50 euro per person in advance.

Time and venue

The conference starts on Monday, September 12 in the morning and ends on Friday afternoon, September 16.

The conference will take place in building G, room G.010, at the Campus Middelheim of the University of Antwerp, located outside town at Middelheimlaan 1, 2020 Antwerp.

There is a bus stop right in front of the mathematics building on Floraliënlaan, from where bus 32 takes you into town. Alternatively there is bus 21 which stops on the other side of the campus at the bus stop called Lindendreef.

The closest tram stop is "Koninklijkelaan", to reach it from the campus one walks along Koninklijkelaan for less than 10 minutes towards Grote Steenweg (trams number 7 and 15 driving to the left on Grote Steenweg take you into town):

Travel to Antwerp

Arriving by train

Antwerp has two main train stations, Antwerpen–Berchem and Antwerpen–Centraal. From both stations, busses 21 and 32 take you to Campus Middelheim. From Berchem it is a 20min ride, from Centraal a 35min ride.

From Antwerpen–Centraal, the historic center of town is within walking distance (10min). It is also possible to take the premetro (tram that goes underground) at the station. Tickets can be bought in the station. Taxi's are available at the station or dial +32 (0)3 238 38 38.

Arriving by plane

If you arrive at Brussels airport in Zaventem, there is a direct train connection to Antwerp that takes only half an hour. At the airport, go to level -1 to reach the train station. You will have to take a train from Brussels Airport–Zaventem with destination Antwerpen–Centraal. You can buy a ticket at the train station of the airport. The time schedule of all trains can be found at the website of Belgian Rail.
